I’ve been a church girl my whole life—and a “good” church girl at that.
And although I’d heard the Gospel many times, my walk with Christ was dominated by spiritual check boxes and to-do lists. It always felt like there was so much space between God and I, and it was up to me to close the gap through good deeds and of course--more check boxes.
Four years ago, the Lord showed me that I was not in alignment with the Gospel; I was actually in rebellion against it, because you cannot receive God’s love or grace when you do not think you need it. And that’s where I was—convinced my own hard work could close the chasm between God and I.
So here I am, a recovering legalist learning to kick off my “shoes” of striving and run wild, barefoot, and free in this crazy thing called grace. This space is for you to do the same: to rediscover the truth about Jesus, to find freedom in the simple Gospel, and to experience peace in the reality that it is Jesus alone who saves, keeps, and renews us.

God designs & creates man and woman for intimate, unhindered relationship with Him.
Relationships between God, man and creation are severed because of sin. Sin, shame and evil pollute a once flawless Earth.
Mankind spends centuries trying to close the chasm between God and man through sacrifices, good works, and one’s own goodness.
Jesus came to Earth, lived a sinless life, fulfilled the law and became the ultimate sacrifice on a cross for the sins of the world. His death and resurrection proved He was God in the flesh and held the power to defeat sin by becoming the bridge between God and man.
As seen in history, man cannot be made right with God through his own works. It is solely by putting our trust in Jesus and the work He did. We become justified, or made right with God, because Christ’s righteousness is debited to us—now we are seen as righteous.
When we put our trust in Christ, we receive a new identity—our old self is gone. God places his Holy Spirit inside of us to teach us, guide us, warn us, and help us mature. Our life is spent listening and depending on the Holy Spirit to work things out in us and to help us tell others about this life changing news.
